Maerita is skilled in American Sign Language. She graduated from the Interpreting for the Deaf program at Tarrant County Junior College in Ft. Worth, Texas. When she is clowning as Chuckles, PC, or Tickles, she loves to see the expressions on the faces of deaf children when she begins to sign. They are amazed and excited when they see a clown who speaks their language.

​See the slide show of clown ministry:  In July 2012, Maerita and Mama Mae drove 4,000 miles round trip to Gallup, NM, to minister at the very first Church of God Navajo Camp Meeting at Red Rock Park. They had the car packed full of clown supplies, props, and crafts for the children. It was a life-changing event for all that attended. Maerita and her mom also helped at Perry Stone Ministry Partners Conference and Main Event Kidz-Fest in Cleveland, TN.

Maerita aka "Chuckles" has always been a clown at heart. As a child, she would go to the circus just to watch the clowns perform. Her family and friends remember how she loved to play practical jokes and laugh. The opportunity arose to become a clown in 1987, and this is when Chuckles was born. In the years since then, Maerita has created more characters: Chuckles' cousins, PC and Tickles.

PC

PC is short for Pennsylvania Cousin. PC loves to come to the south to visit her cousin Chuckles in the hot summer. You can't miss her blue hair and bright yellow jumpsuit, and you will love her because she makes every event a FUN event.

Tickles

Tickles is Chuckles' cousin from the North Pole who comes to visit Chuckles during the Christmas season. She is great for holiday events because she is an elf with red hair and pointed elf shoes. Her stories from the North Pole will keep you laughing.
